Conversations with a Purpose

Creating the space to enquire, understand and move forward together.
An enquiry-led approach to bringing people together to explore complex questions, learn from different perspectives and turn insight into action.
Conversations with a Purpose is for leaders, teams, organisations and partnerships who need to explore a question, challenge or opportunity together.
Rather than consultation for consultation's sake, I create a structured and inclusive process where people can bring their experience, knowledge and perspectives into the room — and use them to explore what is happening, what matters and what might be possible.
The goal is not to agree on everything. The goal is to understand.
Different perspectives can create friction, challenge assumptions and take us into the unknown. Through remaining open and curious, we can stay with the uncomfortable, listen more deeply and discover what each perspective can reveal.
My role is to create the conditions and structure for this enquiry — guiding the conversation while drawing on the collective expertise already in the room.
Creating a continuous feedback loop
The process is grounded in an Action Learning cycle of enquiry, bringing together questioning,
reflection, learning and action.
Explore → Reflect → Learn → Act → Explore again
Each cycle creates new insight and experience. What is learned feeds back into the next question, decision or action — creating a continuous feedback loop that informs and shapes strategy over time.
This means strategy is not treated as something fixed. It can evolve through what people are experiencing, learning and discovering in practice.

THE ENQUIRY CYCLE

Looking back. Looking around. Looking ahead. Acting and learning again.
Conversations with a Purpose creates a cycle of enquiry that connects experience, reflection, possibility and action. We look at what has already happened, what's happening now and what could be possible — then turn learning into achievable action and return to the enquiry to learn from what happens next.

We don't just ask, “What is the problem?”
We ask, “What can we learn from what is already working, what is changing, what could be possible —
and what can we do next?”
TOOLS FOR THE ENQUIRY
Different questions need different tools. I draw on practical creative and reflective tools to help groups explore what is happening, imagine what is possible and turn insight into action.
Reflective review
Looking back at experience and identifying what has worked, what hasn't and what can be learned.
Stinky Fish
Surfacing what may be difficult, unspoken or getting in the way.
Horizon scanning
Looking outward at emerging changes, opportunities and possibilities.
